Landscape after Rain

Charcoal on paper – a landscape just after rain, drawn quickly while the air still held its moisture.

How the work came to be

The drawing was made en plein air by the Brno reservoir, minutes after a summer storm. Charcoal behaves differently on damp paper – it softens, bleeds, refuses sharp edges.

I let it do what it does best and only guarded the composition. The drawing is fixed and framed in a deep frame without glass.
